Small Groups

Jesus ran a small group for roughly three years.  He set a pattern for all Christians to follow. Harvest Pointe believes in the power of small groups.  It seems to us to be the best way to obey the two greatest commands:  love God and love others.

Small Groups help us live out our mission of preparing, planting, and producing in God's field!

Join us as we kickoff our Small Groups!  For information on the different groups and meeting places, and how to get involved, contact Harvest Pointe

Outdoor Church takes place at 2110 S Memorial Pkwy, Huntsville, AL 35801.  Plan on getting there around 11 AM that morning and leaving around 2 PM.

LIFE South Blood Drive

LIFE South Blood Drive

LIFESouth.jpg

May 6th after the conclusion of service consider donating blood and help save lives.

The message below is from LIFE South.

The blood of Jesus Christ gives us eternal life.  The old church hymn, “There’s Power in the Blood” rings true.  There is power in our blood too…blood that we donate.  Donated blood can help save someone’s physical life. The fact is that the vast majority of people can donate but less than 1 in 10 actually do.

The highest need for donated blood is not for accident victims in the E R, or for those who are anemic, but for cancer patients.  There are hundreds of thousands of children that are in need of blood to survive their fight with cancer right now.  This is a matter of life or death for many of them.  Blood supplies are near all-time lows right now and if a major disaster were to hit in our community, the critical supply of donated blood would not be met.

I’m writing because we need your help to continue to save lives. Our LifeSouth team is committed to making sure the blood is there when you or your family member is in need. The blood collected from our donors directly serves the needs of patients in our community first. Only 45 minutes of your time, just 45 minutes of your congregation’s time, could mean a lifetime for someone else.

Easter Basket Mission

Easter Basket Mission

Easter is just around the corner, and we have a special mission this month.  Easter Baskets for children who will not otherwise receive one.  Here's how:

Easter Basket collection will begin March 4 and end Palm Sunday!  Baskets will be collected and taken to the Salvation Army.  They will then be passed out on Easter weekend to children whose families come to the Salvation Army Community Kitchen.

You may purchase pre-made baskets, or experience a special blessing by putting together your own basket!  Along with the usual candy, you may fill your basket with small toys, books, socks, Christian items, etc.  Anything suitable for children ages 2 thru 12.  It's helpful if you label your basket with recommended age and gender of child.  And don't forget to add a prayer or two for the child who will receive it!

HELPline Holiday Giftwrap

Harvest Pointe once again will support Crisis Services of North Alabama this Christmas season with their key fund-raising event, the Annual HELPline Holiday Giftwrap, at Parkway Place Mall in Huntsville.

HELPline is a 24/7 crisis line answered by volunteers trained to provide crisis intervention when a person is temporarily unable to cope.  Last year, HELPline added Crisis Chat to encourage youth to reach out for help.  Crisis Chat is for anyone who is depressed, despairing, going through a hard time, or just needs to talk, including people who are thinking about suicide.  CSNA continues to offer 2-1-1, which provides information and referrals to people needing assistance with basic human needs like emergency shelter and rent/utility bills, mental health support, and employment.

Harvest Pointe will "man the booth" on Tuesday evening, December 20. Gift wrapping skills are helpful but not required.  We need four persons in the booth, and you can sign up for one or two hours if you wish.  To volunteer, see Kerry and Jack, or contact them at jkpmlawrence@bellsouth.net.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

to Feb 14

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Harvest Pointe believes emphatically value that every human life is a sacred gift of God.  Starting January 17th we will demonstrate our support of life by participating in the Pro-Life Baby Bottle Boomerang Program.

It's really simple.  It's called Baby Bottle Boomerang because our local pro-life crisis pregnancy center, Choose Life of North Alabama, distributes empty baby bottles to church congregations like ours, and just like a well-tossed boomerang, they return full of coins, currency, and checks.  Since its inception in 2001, over 1,400 pro-life organizations have used the Baby Bottle Boomerang to raise over $70,000,000 and to inform the church community about their services and needs.  That money literally saves the lives of unborn children.  For more about this effort, visit www.chooselifehuntsville.org.

Watch for baby bottles to appear early in January!

We're Moving!

Harvest Pointe had its beginnings in a house.  Once we outgrew that setting we journeyed into a church facility, not our own.  From there to Gooch Place, where we've now reached max capacity.

We have prayed and looked, looked and prayed for a place.  God has provided!  Now we enter a new phase of our journey!  What an exciting time to watch God's church grow.

Next Sunday, March 15, we will be in a new place to worship together.  We are partnering with Inside-Out Ministries and we're so excited about it!  The building is 4.5 miles south of our current location.  The address is 103 Gin Oaks Court; Madison, AL 35758.

Would you come and grow with us?
